i got the halo demo to work fine on my debian box, the textures suck but the sound is in synch and theres very little lag, cedega failed to install the game for me and install hung on the "creating system icons" message. so i ctrl alt esc'd the installer (which was 99% complete), opened konsole cd'd my way to ~/.cedega/halo demo/c_drive/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Halo Trial, typed cedega halo.exe and *POOF*. the chat function doesn't work in multiplayer (which pisses me off to no end, theres nothing worse than pwning some retard night after night and never being able to ridicule him) beyond that and the lame textures the gameplay is faster than win or mac. ;)

You can find mod for Halo at

www.clanhalo.net
www.macgamingmods.com

I no mods never seem to work with me but these ones do.
Once you download the file it will have a .map at the end.
Just replace it with the orninal .map file.
Dont change the names and a hint is to make different folders for each so you dont get confused.
Keep you orginal map.

Peace out all Mac kick ass

Yea...so I've noticed that this is an old blog. But I thought I'd post anyways just for grins.

For the Halo Demo. If no one has still been able to find it. Just go to the Apple site and find the search bar and type in "Halo Demo". From there it's self explanitory.

Ya'll have put up a good fight here. It's pretty amusing to read. I have been running on both Windows and Mac all my life (not kidding) And I find Macs easier to use over all. And am happy with it. Like you who said ya'll liked it. I follow ya'll too when ya'll say Halo is better on a Mac. Windows just isn't up to date like Macs are...So it's kicking butt.

Also I'd like to add that Tiger is one of the best Operating Systems so far. As long as you truely know how to use it, theres nothing to hold you back. You just need the computer, keyboard, mouse, and a flippen brain.

Anyhoo, I swear fights on Windows vs Macs are so funny.

Well I hope people are still reading this. Because then the las two minutes I was typing was for no purpose what so ever........

Later!

I too have run halo for Mac and PC, and i have to say, im happier with the mac version. More pixals on the screen make for a crisper picture, a more sturdy framerate and all from a machine that has 1.2Ghz less processing power and 256 less ram then my PC.

I am an PC and Mac user. I have a dual G4 desktop and a P4 HT laptop. (I on the other hand have a 19 year old car so no need to be gellous.) If Halo really does run beter on a mac it doesn't change the lack of some great titles for the mac. Though I think that when Mac makes the other "Switch" and moves to x86 based Intel after years of using Apple's sworn enemy and biggest hardware supplier IBM there might be room for cross over titles. (By the way how does a company that makes IBM out to be the evil overloard in the '84 advert later flip flop and become one of IBM's biggest accounts and all in the course of 3-5 years. I guess now that Steve Jobs is back Steve is getting back to his mindset of "IBM, is the evil overloard bent on crushing small companies like our billion dolar company with their ego centric designs. Now let us use all our own stuff, none of that of the competitor, and stick our logo on everything." depending on who you are you might find that funny for two reasons. Anyway too much drugs back in the 70's does some odd stuff I.E. Steve Jobs.) Quick note: Some of that was jokes I had from my post-mac/pre OSX days (classic sucked except for Simple Text.) durring which I used to bash mac users. Now I made that joke on a mac. Ironic? Yes but despite Job's odd state I do like OSX. Side Note: Ego centricity has slowed for French auto company Renult to buy Mack/Volvo trucks and even parts of Nissian so ego centricity has done wonders for France. Please mind my ramblings by the way, it's late. Anyhoo I still own the PC version and my PC is one of the best computers I have used and it is the best for gaming. I would only by a Mac copy for a lan party or something if there was not enough PC's but even with the idea that Halo runs beter there is still a world of games that aren't even available for mac and "I like me the games". Without some proper titles I am going to just game on PC. More Mac titles and then were talking but until then keep the macs on the video/audio editing mates. That's what their there for. Cheers! :∆ (emotocon magic and did I tell you I need some sleep.)

I have a mac and a PC, the PC is much better than the mac, and Halo works perfectly on my PC, you should also consider improving your spelling so that people can understand you. I wish they made a mac demo for halo, i wouldn't waste my money on anything but a new operating system for it, because its a piece of junk and its less than two years old! I've already had it in for a couple screen problems and a virus, it also sleeps at weird times, and the mouse freezes and moves, but i don't control it.
