Linux and NetApp NFS combo
NetApp has a technical report out on how to get the most out of your NetApp filer from Linux clients. The PDF is here.
It’s a nice background on NFS in Linux, but all you really need to know is this: Run at *least* a 2.4.21 kernel (2.6 if you can), use TCP mounts, and most likely you’ll want to set your rsize/wsize to 32K. Done.
In my experience, if you’ve satisfied the above, Linux / NetApp NFS performance is excellent.
