I know.. More Firefox stuff. But this is significant: The Firefox start page (that page that new users of Firefox see for the first time) is being hosted by Google. Charitable act? Or strategic positioning? Probably a little of both.

November 14th, 2004It is interesting to me that the google firefox image includes a tip that I had not seen prior to changing my start page back to my own page . Displayed is the short cuts incl/ Ctrl-k to access search bar .
I was a bit annoyed that on MacOS X (not MSWin) the start page was automatically changed .
November 15th, 2004Yeah, the Windows installer asks you if you want to use the Firefox start page. I guess the drag-n-drop nature of the OS X install doesn’t give them a chance to ask. Would be nice if it asked the first time it started up, though.
I too discovered the ctrl-k shortcut via the new startup page. Very handy!
