One more thing…

I’ve also decided to be a bit more focused on what goes on this blog. In the past I’ve used it as a bit of a bookmarking engine (”hey! this is cool! check it out!”), as well as a place for me to create my own content. In the past few months I’ve pretty much gravitated to using del.icio.us for my bookmarking needs. VMUNIX Blues will only have content where I’ve created or added value. That might be an original post. Or perhaps commenting on something else I see out there. But no more cut-n-paste-n-link type of blogging. There’s a zillion other sites out there for that purpose. The one thing I may paste-blog would be noteworthy events that I want to remember. At its core, the VMUNIX Blues is still a journal for me. Something I want to be able to look back at 10, 20 years from now and go “Oh yeah! I remember when OpenSolaris launched and I was wondering about how forks would be handled.”

On a semi-related note, since I’m working all day long on networking stuff, I’m hoping I’ll be able to post thoughts and ideas that I feel are significant from that world here too.
