Top 5 Things You Need to Know about NFSv4

Update 2: It was brought to my attention that I appear to be writing off Tech OnTap entirely. That’s not what I meant. What I meant to say was “Don’t click on the links below, they don’t work. Instead go straight to Mike’s Slides”. Tech OnTap is great. I just wish it were link friendly.  :)
Update: Ok, in what I can only describe as complete and utter stupidity on NetApp’s part, you can’t actually load the links below. Instead you’ll get a useless error message that doesn’t even tell you that you need to go to some other site and then fill out a big form with lots of drop downs asking for all sorts of marketing bullshit. Then you’ll get access to Tech OnTap. Which is too bad, since there’s really a bunch of great stuff there that would be excellent info for anyone in IT, whether or not they’re a NetApp customer or have filled out the stupid registration form. I thought NetApp marketing was smarter than this. Maybe they’ve never heard of Technorati? I dunno.

So just go straight to Mike’s slides and forget Tech OnTap.

Hot off the presses via NetApp’s new “Tech OnTap” is this gem from Mike Eisler titled: The Top 5 Things You Need to Know about NFSv4

If for some reason you’ve been hiding under a rock and haven’t looked at NFSv4 at all, this should get you up to speed with all that’s new in just a few minutes.

Note that you can access all of Mike’s slides from LISA ‘05 right here.
