It’s not every day that a Cray comes rollin’ into your datacenter:
What are doing with a Cray supercomputer? Aren’t we all “Linux Opteron Beowulf RaRaRa!!”? It’s all about the Direct Connected Processor Architecture, baby. Imagine all the HyperTransport buses off each Opteron processor plugged straight into a big, badass crossbar interconnect and you get the idea.
