SwitchTower becomes Capistrano
When I demo Rails there are two things that never fail to blow people’s socks off: migrations and switchtower. If you’re knee deep in the chaos that is traditional web development, watching ‘rake migrate’ back you out of a bad change deployed to the production site in one glorious step is practically a religious experience. So it’s good to see the SwitchTower boys take a cease & desist order over the name in stride and come up with something even better: Capistrano. While I don’t think it’s as easy to remember as SwitchTower, I do like the ring of “cap it, baby”. ![]()
