RAID Array Decommisioning

Via my local NetApp team:

Check it out if you’ve ever owned a crappy RAID array (and who hasn’t?). Don’t forget the video:

A couple comments from personal experience in this “sector”:

1. Heavier sledge hammers are better. You want it so heavy that you can barely hoist it over your head. If it’s too light the reverb is brutal.

2. Don’t forget piledrivers. They do good work.

3. Throwing arrays off the top of really tall buildings is wicked fun. But remember to clear a lot of space cause when hard drives explode those magnets break apart into litte fragments that go fucking everywhere.

4. Regarding above, it’s best if you pay off the security guards AHEAD of time. Much cheaper.

5. Nice to see the love being shared across the whole team. It’s the kind of good, wholesome activity that everyone needs to experience it from time to time.

Thanks for the link Lance! I laughed hard. :D
