Thursday’s VanHPC talk by Google almost full!
If you’re in the Vancouver area and want to attend Thursday evening’s talk by Google’s Shiva Shivakumar you’d better send your RSVP to Maik soon, as we’ve almost reached the 210 person capacity of the lecture theatre. Now, I’m sure not all of the people who RSVP’ed will show up, but I’d hate to have to turn you away at the door if the room fills… RSVP’ing now also ensures we’ll order the appropriate amount of snacks, not something we want to get wrong!
Here’s the Upcoming.org event.
If there’s sufficient interest, I’d be game for grabbing a beer after the talk. Not sure if Shiva can stay as I believe he’s driving right back to Seattle after the talk, but I’m sure we could get a good crew together and head over to Original Joe’s.
VanHPC is so far proving to be a success, drawing people not only from the “traditional” academic High Performance Computing world, but also people building their Web 2.0 startups to people designing scalable software for use at port authorities. I love it when cross sections of the software sector can meetup and talk about how they’re solving problems!
