I'm looking to do the same upgrade. Does anyone know how this card compares in performance to the x800 XT? I have a 24'' cinema display.

Howdy,

I just picked up a RAdeon 9800Pro 256, and stumbled on your guide for flashing it.

So after looking around, the only ROM I could find was for a PCI Radeon - is that the ROM that you used, or did you find a Radeon 9800 Mac AGP ROM?

thanks,

Thx for the Artic Cooling recommendation. Looks like it's a good route to go - excellent cooling, quiet, and relatively inexpensive. Hopefully the latest generation won't have to be modified much (or at all) to fit in the G5 PCI bay, which has very little room "below" the AGP card.

Congrats. Let me recommend the Arctic Cooling silencer line. When I still had a 9800 Pro in my PC I got one of those and it was high quality all the way, excellent cooling and it was whisper quiet with direct heat exhaust in the back.
