New DropDMG has auto-updating

The latest version of DropDMG (2.7.9) has introduced auto-updating! From the release notes:

*   Rewrote the Software Update feature. When a new version is
available, it can now show you the release notes. DropDMG now
downloads the new version itself, rather than relying on your
browser. The **Download & Install** button will cause DropDMG
to auto-update itself to the latest version.

Nice. I really like it when software “takes care of itself”. Check out Michael’s blog post for more details.

(DropDMG, BTW, is an indispensible disk image utility for OS X. I use it primarily for creating offsite DVD-R backups of my home computer.)
