Cisco buys IronPort
Yip. It’s true. Cisco has acquired IronPort for $830 million dollars.
I think I can best sum this acquisition up in a single word: Fuck.
I mean really, what else can I say. I’m sure it’s a best case scenario for IronPort shareholders, and at that price tag, it’s hard to imagine that there aren’t a whole lot of giddy people who just made a boat load of money. Which is great. Really, it’s great. IronPort has the best product in this space, and there’s truly some unique, superb innovation behind it. But as a customer? Shit… Now I have to deal with bloody Cisco…
