Was doing some work in a Rust project and realized I’d somehow ended up with both ed25519-compact and ed25519-dalek in the mix. Which.. didn’t feel ideal, and then Geoff sent me Henry de Valence’s It’s 255:19AM. Do you know what your validation criteria are?.

I don’t really have a smart conclusion here beyond that. Just one of those posts where you get a few paragraphs in and your confidence in the shape of a thing starts evaporating. “Ed25519” was feeling to me like a much more stable and obvious bucket than maybe it deserves to be in practice.

Anyways, ed25519-zebra it is.
